Troubleshooting#

Most of what looks like a fault on Careers@GFTV is the site saying something precise. This page is the translation.

Signing in#

That username or password was not right#

The two are checked together, so the message never says which one was wrong. Your email address works in place of your username. If neither gets you in, use recover your account with one of your account recovery codes.

The code from Telegram did not arrive#

Send /code to the bot and it will issue another. A code lasts five minutes and works once. One of your two factor backup codes works instead of any of this.

If the bot says nothing at all, your account may not be linked any more. Check Telegram in your account settings.

That link only works in the browser that asked for it. Opening it somewhere else cancels it, deliberately, because a link that signed in whoever opened it would be a password sitting in a chat history. Sign in on the page and use the six digit code.

That sign in has expired#

The second step has a time limit. Enter your password again to start over.

I am asked for the second step on a device I trusted#

A trusted device lasts 30 days, and several things end it early. Changing your password, resetting it with a recovery code, turning the Telegram code on or off, and unlinking Telegram. Nothing has gone wrong; trust it again when you next sign in.

I have no codes left and cannot get in#

Nobody can get you back in on your own. An admin can reset the password once they are satisfied you are who you say you are. Ask in the GFTV Telegram group, or wherever you normally reach the team.

Applying#

The application form did not open#

Your browser stopped the new tab, which is normal and is not a problem. The panel says so and gives you a button that opens the form properly.

The Apply button shows a date#

You applied to that role and the three month wait is running. The date is when it reopens. See Applying again.

The Apply button says there is an unanswered question#

You opened the form for that role and never said whether you submitted it. Press it, answer the question, and applying works normally again. The same question is on your Outstanding tasks page.

Applications are paused across the site#

A site wide switch is off while something is being fixed. There is nothing wrong with the posting, and nothing you can do differently. Try again later.

This role has no application form set up yet#

Ours to fix, not yours. If it stays that way, tell the team.

I applied, and the site still says Started#

Started means you opened the form and have not confirmed. The site cannot see Google's side, so it has to ask. Answer the question and the row moves to Applied.

Reading and searching#

A posting is in English when I chose Chinese#

It says English only because nobody has translated it yet. It is shown anyway instead of being hidden, and the notice at the top invites you to ask for it to be prioritised.

A translation reads wrongly#

Every posting carries Report a translation problem at its foot. Say which language version, which part, and what is wrong, and offer a better wording if you have one. A person reads every report, and every report is answered, including one that is turned down.

Search in Chinese finds things in a different order#

It does, and it is not broken. English search understands words and ranks by how well they match. Chinese search matches the characters you type, because the database cannot split Chinese into words.

A role I saw last week has gone#

A closed posting stays readable and says it has closed. If the address gives you That page does not exist, the posting was removed entirely, which is different from closing.

Messages from the site#

Will be available in Phase 5#

That part of the site was not built yet when this sentence appeared. Careers@GFTV was released in phases, in public, and every phase has shipped since 12 September 2026. If you still see it, the page is an old copy: reload it. The status page says whether the site is working.

Temporarily unavailable while we fix something#

Different from the above: that feature has shipped and is switched off for the moment. It comes back, and the status page lists what is currently off.

This page is not saved for offline reading#

You are offline and that address was never opened while you had a connection. Nothing has been lost. See Offline and installing.

Your connection looks fine, but we cannot reach Careers@GFTV#

The site itself is unreachable. This is ours, not yours.

Too many attempts#

A limit on how often something can be tried. Wait a while before trying again.

Something went wrong at our end#

It means what it says. Try again in a moment, and tell the team if it keeps happening.

A short FAQ#

The portal carries its own frequently asked questions page. These are the ones asked most.

Are these roles paid? No. Every role currently listed is voluntary and unpaid, including the senior and staff roles, and including the people who built the site. A posting that is ever paid will say so on itself. Never read Full time as a claim about pay: it describes how much time the role takes.

Do I need an account to read a posting? No. Every posting is public in full, and so is the whole board including the filters. An account is needed to apply and to save a role.

How long does registering take, is there a queue? A moment, and no. Applicant accounts are active immediately, with no approval wait and no email verification.

Why does the site not ask for my email, then ask for my email? It asks so that it can fill an application form in for you and so you have a second way to sign in. It sends nothing to it, ever.

What happens if I forget my password? You use one of your ten account recovery codes. See Recovery codes.

I have never done this before. Should I still apply? For anything tagged beginner welcome, yes, and we mean it. Those roles come with somebody showing you how, on real shoots. Where a posting genuinely needs experience it says so under what we need from you.

Do I have to be in Singapore? It depends on the role, and each posting says. Editing, subtitling, design and social roles are usually remote. Anything involving a camera, a studio or a convention is not.

Can I apply for the same role twice? Not straight away. See Applying again.

Still stuck#

Ask in the GFTV Telegram group, or wherever you normally reach the team. There is no support email, because there is no email on this site at all.
